Fitted with a safety overload valve for extra protection, the safety valve is installed between the pump and high-pressure check valve in the barrel/lift ram assembly. When attempting to raise a load greater than the jack’s capacity, the safety valve opens on each pump stroke and diverts any further oil back to the reservoir thus preventing the raising of the load.

The Borum BR02 series Bottle Jacks can be used horizontally when the pump is positioned above the ram housing or lying on their side with the pump positioned as per the illustrations below. Refer to the owners manual for more information.
