SIKA Abelflex Rod filler
Closed Cell Backer Rod (Abelrod)
An exceptionally strong and lightweight closed cell, polyethylene foam rod expansion joint and space filler.
Closed Cell.
Assists with joint design by providing a bond breaker and helping to determine the depth of the joint.
Excellent recovery properties enable Abelflex Rod filler to withstand many years of compression and expansion, ensuring a tight seal from dirt and water entry.
Ideal as a vertical and horizontal joint filler in concrete, masonry substrates between precast concrete panels, interior walls, sealing skylights, shop fronts and curtain wall construction.
Can also be used in areas such as swimming pools, in draft proofing, dust sealing, sealing electrical control boxes, truck and trailer construction and as piping around chairs.

Usage
Sikaflex®-221 bonds well to a wide variety of substrates and is suitable for making permanent elastic seals . Suitable substrate materials are metals, metal primers and paint coatings (2-component systems), ceramic materials and plastics. It is ideally used for internal sealing and simple bonding applications. Seek manufacturer’s advice and perform tests on original substrates before using Sikaflex®-221 on materials prone to stress cracking. This product is suitable for experienced professional users only. Test with actual substrates and conditions have to be performed to ensure adhesion and material compatibility.
Pigmented, solvent based primer for paints and plastics
Sika® Primer-209 D is a solvent-based, black primer that reacts with moisture and forms a thin layer. This layer acts as a link between substrates and adhesives.
Sika® Primer-209 D is specifically formulated for the treatment of bond faces prior to application of Sika’s 1-component Polyurethanes. This primer might provide excellent adhesion without previous activation step on certain plastic substrates.
Sika® Primer-209 D is used to improve adhesion on many plastics and paints such as GRP, epoxy resins, PVC, ABS, PMMA, PC, PS, acrylics, alkyds/melamine, powder coatings and baking varnishes.
Due to the wide variety of plastics, it is mandatory to perform preliminary tests on original substrates under production conditions.
Seek manufacturer’s advice and perform tests on original substrates before using Sika® Primer-209 D on materials prone to stress cracking.
This product is suitable for experienced professional users only. Tests with actual substrates and conditions have to be performed to ensure adhesion and material compatibility.
Pigmented, solvent-based primer for various substrates
Sika® Primer-206 G+P is a solvent-based black primer, which reacts with moisture and forms a thin layer. This layer acts as a link between substrates and adhesives.
Sika® Primer-206 G+P is specifically formulated for the treatment of bond faces prior to application of Sika’s 1-component Polyurethanes.
Enhanced adhesion on a wide variety of substrates
Easy to apply
Usage
Sika® Primer-206 G+P is used to improve adhesion on substrates such as float glass, ceramic-coated glass, pre-coatings, painted surfaces and some plastics and metals.
Seek manufacturer’s advice and perform tests on original substrates before using Sika® Primer-206 G+P on materials prone to stress cracking.
