POWERCOIL STI Taps Straight Flute Taps Spark Plug Pilot Nose
- HSS Pilot Nose Taps use the existing thread as a guide (pilot) when tapping a new female thread.
- Commonly used when repairing spark plug threads.
- PowerCoil wire thread inserts are installed into oversize tapped holes.
- Only PowerCoil STI (Screw Thread Insert) Taps are suitable for use with PowerCoil Wire Thread Inserts.
- STI Taps have a larger diameter, than standard taps, but the same pitch to accommodate the wire thread insert.
- Once the insert is installed in the tapped hole it creates the desired internal thread tolerance for the installed bolt or stud.
