BORDO HSS Centre Drill
Bright Finish HSS No.1 Centre Drill 118° / 60°
Centre Drills are used with a lathe to centre drill stock for mounting in the lathe.
They are designed to drill a small diameter pilot hole followed by a 60° countersink which provides a bearing surface for the 60° point of the lathe centre.
Centre drills are also used extensively with milling machines to accurately start holes.
The hole locations can be dialled in using the milling machine’s calibrated hand wheels.
The hole is then started using the centre drill.
The large diameter shank on the centre drill holds the drill point right on centre.
Once the hole is started, the centre drill is replaced with a drill of the desired diameter and the finished hole is then drilled.
The Bordo range of Self Feeding Wood Bits are ideal for drilling large diameter holes in soft woods for plumbing and conduit penetrations and a wide variety of other applications.
7/16″ hex shanks to suit drills with 1/2″ (or larger) chuck.
Precision milled shank which eliminates wobble and runout.
Spurs on the outside diameter cut holes cleanly and accurately.
Dual inside cutting planes shave hole radius for clean, smooth holes without pressure.
Fored in one piece from high carbon steel for maximum strength under the toughest drilling conditions.
Tungsten Carbide Tipped Hex Shank Ceramic Tile Drill Set
These Rotary Only ceramic tile drills provide outstanding performance and extended tool life in hard ceramic materials.
They feature a unique cutting edge geometry in conjunction with high temperature brazing to ensure reliable and accurate drilling in multiple hole applications.
Use of water cooling will extend bit life.
Although these drill bits are not recommended for drilling vitrified porcelain, their superior multi-facet tungsten carbide tip enables them to drill most materials of this type, albeit with a reduced tool life.
Specifically engineered for use in impact drivers these bits are also fully compatible with conventional rotary drills.
1/4″ hex shank facilitates fast tool loading in cordless impact drivers and quick change adaptors.
Sutton Tools Heavy Duty Cobalt jobber drills are industrial quality for drilling materials that have high hardness and tensile strength such as cast iron, bronze, hard steel & stainless steel. These drill bits feature a thick core for increased rigidity in hard materials.
