Blasting Equipment

The TradeQuip “Made for the Trade” 3036T Blasting Cabinet features a large gas-lift assisted front door for easy loading and unloading. It has excellent lighting and a very powerful vacuum system. The lower hopper stores the abrasive material for use and reuse and opens easily to allow easy removal of any media. Always ready to use when you are, the cabinet can be constantly connected to your air supply and is ready for immediate use when you step on the pedal.

The 3036T uses a foot pedal to control the flow of abrasives from the air nozzle. The foot pedal allows the operator to just “hold and point” the nozzle rather than the need to “pull a trigger” of other sandblast cabinets which can cause hand fatigue during prolonged use.

The 3036T incorporates a powerful vacuum dust extraction system that keeps the work area free of “floating” rust and used abrasive media particles. After the media particles “slams against” the surface to be cleaned, a portion of the bead is “destroyed” and becomes almost weightless. The vacuum system removes the “floating” rust particles and the “used up” media particle shells while the “good beads’ fall into the hopper below the work surface.

Use this blasting cabinet to remove scale or heavy rust from automotive parts, clean up rusty tools, etch glass, or any other special application.

Crushed Glass

Crushed Glass or Glass Beads would have to be one of the most popular forms of blast media and can be used on a variety of dustless blasting and abrasive blasting projects across all industry sectors. Using crushed glass means you know you are using a eco friendly and recycled product that helps the environment. If you’re looking to achieve a smooth, bright finish, glass beads can be your best option. Glass beads are also recyclable and can be used up to 100 times before replacement, making them an extremely cost-effective option. Glass bead media works well on soft metals like aluminium and brass as well as plastic. Works with a blasting gun or in a blast cabinet.

It can be used to remove rust, paint or scale from steel surfaces. Steel Grit works well in many tough applications such as railway maintenance, structural steel and in foundries. Steel Grit Abrasive Media is made up of sharp cutting angular particles that clean by cutting and etching into the surface which usually results in an etched surface with well defined anchor pattern. Steel Grit can also be used in blasting cabinets for surface preparation as its sharp edge will gradually round over as the abrasive is recycled. The durability and resistance to impact fatigue of Steel Grit provides maximum cleaning efficiency at the most economical cost.

The TradeQuip “Made for the Trade” Soda Blasting Retrofit Kit is designed for use in conjunction with our 19, 37 and 75 Litre Mobile Sand Blasting Kits. Quick and simple to fit and use. Switching to Soda Blasting is especially suitable for removing paint without harming sheet metal, glass, or chrome Perfect for restorations in the classic car market as soda will not etch glass and will not warp or remove metalwork. Surface will be left silky smooth. Soda also leaves a rust inhibitor behind for up to six weeks.

You can also use bicarbonate soda blast media (NOT household baking soda) to remove graffiti and grime from brick, concrete, limestone, granite and other surfaces. Other uses included cleaning of delicate substrates; architectural and industrial cleaning; paint stripping; corrosion removal. Use to remove mould and mildew stains from pools, cement, brick, tile, granite, sound stucco, siding and more. Safely strip paint from aircraft aluminium, trucks, motorcycles. Bicarbonate soda also works brilliantly for fast removal of thick oils and grease from engines and floors.

Fitting Instructions
Remove the Standard Manifold (See picture in fig.1)
Use a flat head screwdriver to loosen the hose clamp on the blasting hose and pull the hose off the connector.
Unscrew the air hose form the manifold.
Unscrew the manifold from the bottom of the tank.

Fit Soda Blasting Manifold (See picture in fig.2)
Screw in the new manifold until tight, use a spanner, ensure the air hose connection faces the back of the tank.
Screw in the air hose and tighten with a spanner.
Push the blasting hose onto the lower connector, tighten the clamp with a flat head screwdriver.
If the exhaust hose is not connected push it onto the remaining connector.

NOTE: Use PTFE tape on threaded connection for an air tight seal.
