BORDO Spotting Drills HSS-Co5
- HSS-Co5 (Cobalt) Titanium Aluminium Nitride Coated (TiAlN) Spotting Drill.
- Titanium Aluminium Nitride (TiAlN) coated High Speed Steel with 5% Cobalt.
- Violet/Grey colour.
- Spotting Drills have practically no flutes and are designed to be extremely rigid.
- They are used to create precise spot holes by making a small indentation in the workpiece that prevents the twist drill from wandering.

BORDO Stub Drills Black HSS Fractional
- Stub drills (screw machine twist drills) have a shorter overall length than Twist drills for maximum rigidity and longer tool life.
- 135° Split Point (crankshaft point).
- Split point is self centering and the short distance from the drill axis to the outer corners results in faster penetration, reducing the need for end thrust.
- They are designed primarily for machining operations in lathes (screw machines) but can also be used in manual hand held drills.
- Bordo Stub Drills have two helical flutes with 30 degrees of helix angle. This provides fast chip ejection and very stable drilling operation.
- Black Finish Stub Drills (also called blue finish) achieve their distinctive colour by steam tempering, a thermal process resulting in a porous tool coating.
- Black finish tools are generally recommended for ferrous applications where the oxide layer aids chip flow and heat dissipation.

BORDO Yellow Band HSS Aluminium Drilling
- Bordo Metric Yellow Band HSS Twist Drills for Aluminium and its alloys.
- DIN338
- 130° web thinned point with two helical flutes with 35 degrees of helix angle.
- The alloying elements which achieve varying Aluminium Alloys have an effect on the machining properties of these materials.
- This generally creates a difficult long chip formation and material which has tendencies to stick to the tool, placing a unique set of demands on tooling. Yellow Band Series contends with these difficulties.
- For machining materials with Hardness < 200 HB : Tensile Strength <700 N/mm2.
